Why would you use the term “DumDum?”
I think a lot of data scientists/analysts will tell you, “Data is dumb.” That just means that it alone cannot tell you anything, it takes a person or a program to generate insight. The dum dum refers to the data, not the reader.
Who are you?
I am a analytics and reporting manger working in the industry where I currently support a billion dollar organization. I love teaching others about data from basic fundamentals to the deepest technical aspects. I come with over a decade of experience in analysis and statistics and have been doing analytics for the last 8 years.
Who is this site for?
I made this site to fill a void I noticed in the tutorials, stack exchanges, and learning websites. Many assume you are a total novice or an expert with a strong grasp of the technical. I am aiming to reach viewers who are looking to expand their skills, but may not be technical experts. Ultimately, I hope to teach data fluency.
So, what do you think is the biggest issue in data right now?
For me, the biggest issue facing data right now is ethics and literacy. We need to collectively commit to ethical standards as professionals, as well as promote data literacy in the general public.
